Short definitions - What is a flat roof? A pitchless roof type most favorable in dry climates. A roof which slopes at less than ten degrees to the horizontal but which should not be truly horizontal. A type of roof which lies very nearly horizontally, and provides just enough pitch to allow for the drainage of water. A roof having an almost level surface, except for either being slightly convex, to allow drainage towards its edges, or slightly concave, allowing water to drain at the center of the roof.
